We all know men do not accept that they are lost, never mind asking for help from a woman!!!

P.S I don't have one, my husband does as i don't mind stopping and asking for directions!!!

A woman's voice is more soothing and easier to listen to maybe? Besides, if it was a man, the directions would go more like.....

NO! NO! NO! You were supposed to turn left back there. No! I said right! You misheard me. Turn around, we are gonna be late! I know where we are going, I am the navigation system!

That's the first voice that appears on the sat nav so men accept and quite like it. Some men don't have the noodle to go into the choices of other voices.

Because the female voice is less grating when digitalised than the male voice. Compare the sat nav voice to the mechanical voice on Stephen Hawking's wheelchair device...

On most sat navs there is an option to change the voice from male or female, check the instruction booklet!

It's so that when you end up in somebodys drive instead of a ring road, the drive can roll his eyes and say "Typical Woman .. no bloody idea" or something similar, instead of smashing an expensive piece of kit in a temper tantrum.

Female voice is pitched higher so easier to hear over the rumble of traffic. Also, they couldn't get the guy to sit still long enough to make the recording.

Not sure why .. but thinking about it maybe that explains why it's always looking to go though a non existent road and then re-directing me .. of course by asking me to conduct a U-turn when that manoeuvre is forbidden.....

A woman's voice is more calming, I think. As a married man, I automatically follow a woman's orders. It's easier that way!!!

cause men rarely ever know where they are going so a female voice is more realistic.
