For if life, in the desire for which our essence and existence consists, possessed in itself a positive value and real content, there would be no such thing as boredom: mere existence would fulfil and satisfy us?

Yes, an addiction is a habit of mind.

when people are bored, most of them try to get out of it like it is some kind of a burden or something terrible that they don't want to be in but form what i know, hardly anyone let themself fall into boredom and always tries to find a way out it-even lazying around, which is not quite the same as boredom. What's wrong with being bored anyway..people are always whining "it's boring", it's boring", "i'm bored" blah blah blah..being bored may not get you anywhere but when u really are bored, u find new things to do to get out of being bored so isn't being bored a good thing too?because u find new interests and hobbies form it.
people should really start letting themself to get bored instead of running away form it. It won't give u big harm anyway..right?

Perhaps, a person who is consistently bored is actually depressed. While other factors would have to be assessed for a diagnosis such as this to be given, it would be helpful to note if there was ever a time when ther person did not feel bored as often as he or she does currently.

People get addicted to things that pleasure them. Boredom is a state that noone enjoys and seeks ways to get out of it. If they cannot find ways it does not necessarily mean they like it but the desire to change is smaller than need to change.

Without concrete proof, I'd have to say no. Adrenaline, serotonin, heroin, cocaine, caffeine, nicotine, sugar, fat; all of these can become addictive by many people because they feel better when using them. Addiction being a physical or psychological need for a chemical substance so that you feel better, I can't see how being bored numb would become addictive.

Interesting question, though!

I am not sure but I don't think so. Boredom is not a very pleasant thing? So why addicted to an unpleasant thing?

boredom is one term to describe "rut", as in "i am in a rut". you must seize the day! think of this, if every day you received $1440 and at the end of the day whatever was not spent would be taken away, wouldn't you spend every dollar? you have 1440 minutes in a day and if you don't "spend" it, then it is taken away, never to be gotten back again. it's time to be honest with yourself and figure out what you want out of this short life and go for it. nobody can do it for you.

No. Boredom is a condition, not an act or activity and thus cannot be an addiction.

I'm not sure they get addicted to boredom. I think it's actually that they're lazy and just don't DO anything!

If people can get addicted to something as stupid as drugs, I am sure they could get addicted to boredom.
