Hes a controling jerk, he's treating his wife as if he owns her, & she better do something about it now, I know because my EX husband was the same way, he started with the no friends, then how I could dress, then when I could see my family, then he refused to let me see my family, I couldent shop, unless he was with me, & on & on, THEN he started to beat me up, if I went against his wishes, I divorced him, & it was the BEST thing I did.I am now married to the greatest guy in the world, who lets me be myself, choose my friends, dress as I please, & see my family when I want to, & no arguments or beatings, & i couldent be happier ! Tell her it only gets worse, & before shes hurt, GET OUT of the marriage, cause he will never change.

Some advice for your friend, get out of the relationship. This is a very controlling person and only the beginning.
If she agrees to this, it will never stop.
Her husband has some real issues which could become dangerous. This is a warning sign of things to come.

Are they nonvegetarian? Sounds like it.

Perhaps things are too difficult for her husband to sort out in his mind. And, so then, he may be playing it "better safe than sorry" in regards to her having friends.

If she has guy-pals that might have a lot of bearing in a case like this.

Perhaps she could look around to find only those friends her husband might approve of. Perhaps she could strike a deal with him about that.

Hope things turn out well for everyone!

This is sad situation your friend is in. You need to support and help in her time of need. It won't be easy if she loves him. He sounds very controlling and this is not healthy living, it is 2006. Find out also what does she want within the marriage, it works both ways for happiness.

How long has she known him? Is this a reticent thing? Perhaps its a knee jerk reaction to something that she may not be telling you.... If not....He's a control-er .... By cutting her off from her "Friends" he takes away her ability to solicit advice from them and daily communication.... Isolation is one step away from being someones personal property. She needs to speak to him and sort the mess out...or she risks loosing who she is to bend to his whim.

Big choices ...try to help her through it ...But Don't put your self between them ...you'll loose.

men are insecure!
they believe what their so-called friends/buddies say!
for her not to have any friends is not right!
men do not want anyone interfering in their relationship!
directly or otherwise!
it is for her to get out of the relatonship!
if he is that way with her about having friends!
what's next?????????????
her dressing frumpy? so not to attract men?
abuse????????
one thing can lead to another!

He is trying control her. By isolating her he gains more control. She needs to leave now before he becomes more controlling and it leads to physical abuse if it hasn't already

This sounds like an unhealthy relationship. Get out please. He is controlling and probably abusive in some sort of way. Talking from experience.
