Do you think marijauna has a negative effect on society?

From personnel experience , it has no negative effect on the society. Marijauna or ganja is a very mild drug, unlike alcohol it doesn't make a person angry or voilent. It actually calms a person down, that is why it is legalise in few countries,for example Amsterdam,Holland. It is also use as a medicine to calm a very agitated or voilent person.

When I smoke & sold it I didn't think so. Then we got busted & my husband went to jail. He was there for 9 mos & came out clean. He ws such a differetn person! He stayed clean for 6 mos & then started smoking again.... It took just a couple weeks for him to become the same ole' a$$hole that I'd known before. There were certain things about him when he was smoking that I see in other pot smokers. I look back at things I believed to be reasonable when I was a regular pot smoker & just can't believe that I thought those things. They seem like the believes of another person.
So, my answer has to be yes.
I also took a college class on the effects of drugs on society. The Ancient Chinese chose opium over pot because opium had the same effect on everyone. The effects on pot were felt to be too unpredictable. They confined the use of opium to certain areas & controled the outlets. They had a very ordered society as a result.
In our modern society, we've found that there are profound medical consequences of pot smoking. It's like cigarette smoking to the nth degree. The resin is basically the tar of cigs, you take it in as deeply as you can & hold it there as long as you can. And it does sooo much more damage. Nearly all the pot smokers I knew from my youth have varying degrees of emphsemia, wether they smoke cigs or not. This is medically understandable.

I don't think so mate, i think the legalization of marijuana is nothing but a conspiracy. From whom? well the answer would be the damn petroleum, cigarette, paper and garment industry. These industries from centuries has blocked marijuana from entering the market by emphasizing its bad effects to the society, just bcs its makes you high doesn't mean its bad for you. If marijuana was legalized, i bet a billion dollar that the petroleum industry will go bankrupt, the cigarette industry? well why shld any1 smoke cigg if you have Maryjane? hahahahahah
Marijuana is a good source of fuel, cigg, paper and garment. Though marijuana has some ingredient which is harmful to humans, if it is modified and filtered, those effects could be diminished and yet the effects would be the same.
I personally dont think that marijuana is bad but i have stopped since for 5 years already, i entered and made my business empire and dont want to jeopardize my brain by becoming slow. Now i m not working nor i enter my office, i just suddenly lost interest....its like i need a break.....i m planning to smoke Maryjane but sometimes i think shld i? i have a little bit problem bcs once i start i just cannot stop smoking Maryjane....i just love it....i can smoke it anytime but there is another problem, my hunny bunny is indian with traditional brains, if she knows tht i smoke maryjane i guess she would leave me, i love maryjane but i love my fiance more.... but if i was not with her, maryjane all the way mate...all the way....

Gateway drug my buttttt. Legalize it and tax the product just like gasoline, alcohol, and cigarettes. What a boon to the economy not to mention saving space in our jails and prisons for warehousing more violent criminal elements.
When ya make illegal things legal it really takes all the fun out of consumption.

if done on your own home, at a party, or recreational like drinking a beer or smoking a cigarette then no. have you ever heard of a death from smoking pot? it's all just a scam by the government and DEA so they have a job. What happens to the pot they confiscate anyway?

i dont think so.

It is just another drug. In moderation it is great. The negative affect would come from the association with criminals. They are often seen as the only people who smoke it.

Pot is pretty harmless and legal in some countries.I think that's it's the behaviour that certain drugs cause that are negative,not the actual drug itself.
