Whats the diffrence between minor and major pentatonic scale?

I know the fingers and they sound fairly like a pentatoni cscale but i dont get it if the fingerings are the same BUT i dont get the point of having the same the same fingerings and almost the same note. I mean do you have to take every time a minor scale and make it minor. How can i use the fingerings to get the minor pentatonic
