I want to have a career in drug research, but I like genetics too. What kind of work could I do with both?

Next year I want to go for an undergraduate degree in microbiology, and then I am hoping that I can go to graduate school for genetics. I think there are drug researching opportunities that involve both, but I dont specifically know what it will involve.

you could probably become a genetic engineer. that way you can broaden your knowledge and genetics and possibly create drugs to cure genetic defects.
