shapes and hemispheres?

9 yr old daughter needs help with homework. Learning about shapes and Hemispheres and I am at a loss to know what it is, could anyone help me, very thick 40 something Mum

A sphere is a ball, and a hemisphere is a half ball. If you slice a ball in half, right through the middle, along the equator, then each half is a hemisphere.

A hemishere is half a sphere. As in the Southern & Northern Hemisphere. The globe is a sphere. Shapes are squares, triangles, hexagons, pentagons, rectangles. etc.
