I remember Lance Bass trying to go to space, and didn't. That was before people knew he was gay. I wonder if anyone else has successfully gone to space, whether in the closet or out.

I always wondered about Sally Ride... but to my knowledge there's never been an out gay or lesbian in space.

unless they come out of the closet, we will never know.. society nowadays is accepting of gays/ lesbians but not all businesses, such as a nationallly funded space program would be too keen on that cuz of their image.

I would hope that Gays are smarter than that...who would want to be trapped in a tiny capsule, dressed in that stuff, not being able to go to the bathroom, etc, etc.????? And the food alone would be enough to dissuade any gay guy who is smart enough to qualify from going! LOL

Go to the NASA and ask, but from my point of view at least one astronaut must be gay (I'm applying statistic here guys)

i dont know about any being in space...but i have came across a few that were totally out of this world...in a good sense.
