There are three rubber vibration isolators at the base of the pump.

More than likely, one or more of them have worn out.
Or, the pump has come off the isolator studs.

There is a possibility that the compressor may be on its' way out. I'd check with the local appliance store and get some professional advice.

If it just happens one or twice a day it is in defrost. The defrost heater verses cold coil can cause an expantion noise. It's not a problem
