As good as the Ventures are, the original version by the Chantays is by far the best ever done. But, what do YOU think?

Hey Bowzer,
Yeah, Stevie's version is well done, and certainly is a different take. Thanx for showing me. I even like the version by Anthrax, but I listen to that and the Ventures' version one time and move on. I have listened to the Chantays' version up to ten times repeatedly, usually when I'm listening on my portable CD player while walking. Later.

Agree, but like them both almost equally.

For a really different take on the song, though, have a listen to Stevie Ray Vaughan's version. He also performed it as a duet with Dick Dale, available on many official and bootleg versions from about 1987 onwards.

This one is performed with his brother, Jimmie Vaughan.

Chantays - it's bonaroo !

Here's an artist you may not've heard of - Davie Allen & the Arrows - they are the missing link between surf guitar and garage-punk psychedelia - did lots of soundtrack work for Roger Corman biker flicks in the 60's - Hendrix was a fan, so you'd dig it the most, baby !
