This only works if the mom is a first time mother.. but I love this quote..
The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new.

I just had a baby and I think the best thing that some one put in my card was..."Good buy tummy hello mommy"!! And " i hope you enjoy your little bundle of joy when she/he arrives!" Hope this helps ya a little:>
