"Two West Bank Christian churches were hit by firebombs early Saturday, and a group claiming responsibility said it was protesting Pope Benedict XVI's remarks about Islam.

In a phone call to The Associated Press, a group calling itself the "Lions of Monotheism" claimed responsibility. The caller said the attacks were meant as a protest against the pope's remarks about Islam."

So here you go...all the poor man said was more or less no religion should condone violence and everyone gets their knickers in a knot.

Remember, he who lives by the sword shall die by the sword and sadly there will be no Pearly gates waiting to welcome them in.

Who still believes that the Pope was wrong in his statement? Do you really believe that to be true when you see how violent thier reactions are? It's like they friggin lash out anywhere..on people who have nothing to do with any of it. Hate mongers is all they are..no other religion..not even SATISM..does what these radicals do.

Murdereous radicals come from all religions. We must never deny our own religions' dirty laundry. If everyone would condemn their own religion's fundamentalists and agenda driven bigots who hide cowardly behind the shield of their religion, all political problems would be solved.
May God have mercy on all of us and forgive each of us regardless of our religion for judging others without looking at our own atrocities. Pope John Paul had done so much to bring people of diverse backgrounds together and he was a true man of peace. Benedict has a crusade mentality which is as bad as the jihadist mentality of the fundamentalist moslems. Pope John Paul is turning in his grave.
thank you for the question. people need to ask and reply to these questions, b/c the more peaceful dialogue, and as you suggested , peaceful demonstrations, the better for everyone.

You don't need religion to go the way of peace. You do need some courage to stand up against Bush and his ilk who are spreading fear. You can count on some type of warning that the enemy will soon be doing something big and our defense levels will go up just before the election.
