the uk is going downhill because their government is becoming extremely socialist.their productivity has been reduced drastically.
but they still do build cars, boats, jets, planes, etc. but they will continue to go downhill unless they lower taxes and stop paying people from third world countries to move there.

The laziest people in the world are the Americans and YES.. THEY are fast going downhill and they do not even realize it. The British I considered hard working, diligent people but I think that they also are beginning to go down hill. ... They tend to follow the American trends and that is the worst thing they can do... In their schools now, it is against their law(as in the U.S.) for teachers to scold the students... to tap the students on the hand when they get out of hand, etc. This is ABSOLUTELY WRONG. Teachers should be allowed to scold students in order to discipline them. In the U.S., the students control the classrooms.. If a student does not want to study, he/she does not have to and they can still pass with an A grade.. This is extremely bad in the U.S. and the UK is following.. They should fire their Government head of Education and start over again.. It is too late for the United States

kricky, if you think brits are lazy.... try the french!!!!

a survey was done recently on all major cities, and paris was found to be working th least hours per year!
on top of that, and may be an influence in the result, they have a 35 hr working week .... only a lazy culture would approve such a thing! the fact that it is ruining their economy amoungst other things, they don't seem to care...

would suggest you read a book... the english by jeremy paxman. you question is the antithesis of what he considered to be english.

Heck no. I think of them more as calm, content and not in a hurry. Most times. I mean, they will stop doing something to have tea!...which is awesome. A little tea time....
