Animals have been very helpful in testing medications etc. for finding cures for us humans. I am not a fanatic. I don't believe in hunting just for fun. I don't believe in using an animal to test just to bring some form of notoriety to yourself (as in cloning etc.). I DO NOT believe in cruelty for the sake of being cruel.
I do believe that there are more important causes to become extreme over. So many humans are losing their lives and testing is needed. You have these fanatics who preach for days but when it comes down to it...
They are wearing that makeup, they are taking that medication (what are they going to say... NO NOT THAT, I'd rather die than to use that medication)
Please, animal cruelty rests on the morals of people in society....the fanaticism rests on the people who have a dire need for a cause to make them feel as if they are accomplishing something in life.

Humans are animals, and some animals eat animals:
I find it perfectly fine to eat, hunt, and raise animals for food. Bears can eat deer, so why can't we eat beef? That's why we have canine, ripping and tearing teeth. If we were not supposed to eat meat, we would have developed different teeth and a different body system.

Hurting animals for entertainment is not right at all. If some circuses could put on a good show without the animal going through stress and pain, they would be fine. But I don't like hurting an animal one bit for the sake of it. Whipping a horse or such to get it to perform something is a little mean, but does not upset me.

I feel differently about leather than fur. First, leather comes from animals that were killed for food, usually. It doesn't really bother me. But killing an animal ONLY for it's skin or fur is not necessary- I feel.

All in all meat is ok, hurting for entertainment isn't, and using skin and fur is ok through certain circumstances.

I respect everyone (and thing), but PETA and such organizations does tick me off a bit. They are being totaly hypocritical when they hate meat-eating people (when humans are considered animals), while animals eat other animals. I also don't like it when they fuss, and push their vegan no-killing-animal ways on other people.

Skip the food part, as that has been around for as long as humans have been around and that is why God made meat out of animals - for humans to eat.

Clothing - no longer needed as it was ages ago.

Hurting animals for entertainment - un ethical. Wild animals are meant to be wild, not used to entertain humans. Humans should find other forms of entertainment, there's plenty available. There are no advantages to this.

I think every living thing deserves to be treated with respect.. Killing animlas that have been raised by men (cow, pig, sea animals, chicken) for food is okay.. otherwise, I think it's totally disgusting.. Fur coats, jewelry made of animal parts and stuffed animal trophies and statues, hurting animals for entertainment? That is so wrong! You are being cruel to an animal who has feelings, just like a human.. Since we are the highest living form, it is our responsibility to protect all the other living things we share the world with..

I am personally against all of it; animal testing for medicine, cosmetics; animals raised and killed for meat, fur, skin, and other body parts; keeping animals caged in zoos and on display for peoples' entertainment. It is all exploitation, if you ask me. Perhaps if the animals are treated in a way which could compensate them for their loss of freedom when they are in zoos and stuff, then I could see where it might be justifiable- i.e. making their cage to be like a habitat they would live in in the wild and keeping endangered species in captivity so that they don't go extinct from loss of natural habitat, etc. The advantages are only for humans in regards to the other things, with the only advantage to the animals being that they don't have to go looking for food and shelter and they don't have predators- except they will get killed in the end. Go vegan, be humane!

I'd rather use an animal's skin for clothing than to wear man-made stuff that doesn't break down, is made up of and releases chemicals, is artificial, pollutes the earth and hurts the environment. When was the last time you've seen a pair of "pleather" boots, or any other man-made material, break down? NEVER.
