A misogynist is a type of misanthrope who dislikes women in particular.

There are ALL kinds of reasons to be celibate (i.e., refraining from any sexual activity with a partner), including:
- Health reasons, to eliminate the risks of venereal disease.

- Desire to focus energies on other matters, like social issues.

- Religious reasons: Catholics understand celibacy to be a reflection of life in Heaven, and a source of detachment from the material world, which aids in one's relationship with God. Catholic priests are called to be espoused to the Church itself, and espoused to God, without overwhelming commitments interfering with the relationship. Catholics understand celibacy as the calling of some, but not of all. The Church has clear teachings on sexuality and family life, and the intrinsic supernatural goods of both. Many public aberrations of celibacy, then, can be explained by a misunderstanding of celibacy itself.

- The Greater good: A refusal to reproduce, because it may be detrimental to society by contributing to over-population. Conversely, celibacy could be a means of preventing a hereditary condition or something like HIV from spreading.

- It could make a relationship less complex and even more democratic. It can be argued that the historical Christian ideal was celibacy partially for this reason.

- An inability to obtain a willing sexual partner, due to social awkwardness or anxiety, physical or mental handicap, or lack of physical attractiveness and/or financial resources (involuntary celibacy).

- It could even be a case of no interest in sex or simply disliking sex (asexuality).

- Among Catholics and members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints homosexuals are expected to remain celibate. A Catholic organization promoting chaste celibacy for homosexuals is Courage International. Those who identify as homosexual can not become Catholic priests however regardless of whether they maintain celibacy. The LDS church encourages its members to not feed any such tempted desire, but does not specifically require being cured so therefore this is assumed to advocate celibacy for homosexuals. In early times homosexuals would also be celibate to avoid punishment under sodomy laws.

So, I would say in answer "certainly not." There are many reasons why one might be celebate and not be a misogynist.

It is generally understood that rape is the act of a misogynist. So ask yourself, "Is a rapist celibate?"

A misogynist cannot be a true celibate. A true celibate cannot be a misogynist.

If you don't like the opposite sex, what's to give up? I hope this answers your question.

By the way. A pederast is not a true celibate either. The vows of a pervert are perverted still.

in the beginning somebody may be an anti-feminist without being a misogynist. I guess you would be dissatisfied if I addressed a query to feminist/new child abusers. after all, I do have confidence that area of the reason we ask is with the help of the fact a number of your perspectives choose explaining to make sense. as an occasion, i won't have the ability to be attentive to how feminists will say that it relatively is their physique and there selection whilst it is composed of abortion yet they do no longer look to care that "their" selection impacts a minimum of two added human beings. So it does not make sense on the face of it why your selection is the only determining element in what is going to happen with the existence of two human beings for a minimum of the subsequent 19 years. Why do you think of people who disagree with you will desire to stay faraway from you? Does it make you uncomfortable to would desire to describe your positions?

Maybe he just doesn't like sex. You can be celibate and in a relationship with a woman. So in answer to your question, no.
