Is it normal to have itching and burning after a colonoscopy,how long will it last, what is the cause and cure

I had a colonoscopy about a month ago and a couple days later I started having itching and burning, it got so bad I went back to my dr. and he put me on antibiotics for ten days which seemed to help, but 5 or 6 days later I'm back to square one I noticed on the answers page a person named Frankie had the same thing happen, Is this common and what is the problem?

I had a polyp removed from the rectal area and when I went to the dr.I asked him if it could be hemorrhoids though I had never had much trouble in that area,and he said I didn't have any. It seems like if I eat tomatoes it's worse, I guess the acid, but I've eat tons before with no problem. I hope it finally clears up but I am getting very concerned.

a month after the procedure you should have no problems at all, were you by any chance told that you have hemmarhoids? they can cause these symptoms, preparation H or Sitz baths can be very helpful. feel free to email me with any questions
