What's worse is getting a swimmers cramp in your calf in the middle of a deep sleep. You wake up screaming and grabbing for your leg, but to no avail.

yeah, I hate that. I will be dreaming that I am falling of a cliff and then suddenly I wake up. Then about 1 or 2 seconds later, I go back to sleep

Well, I don't jerk while I'm already asleep, but it seems to happen just as I'm falling asleep. It's funny when it happens because my husband doesn't have to look at me anymore to know when I'm off to dreamland, he can just feel me jerk. I shake the whole bed when I do...LOL!

When I am falling asleep I shake suddenly, while I am asleep I don't know.

Once while asleep I started to beat my wife and she yelled 'what are you doing to me?' and I woke up and said 'Sorry, I thought you were the Bee Gees'

Absolutely, this usually happens to me when I am extremely tired and I didnt get a good nights sleep the night before. Its just a sign your muscles are relaxing since theyve had to be tight all day to get you through it.

sometimes that happens to me. I think its because of a strong brain impulse that occurs during your dream state. because when you dream, sometimes, impulses happen in different areas of the brain which causes some people to speak, walk, move around, etc.
