Aren't we being just a little premature? Sure, it's a good idea. But at the moment, we have no way of returning to it. Besides, the moon has already been declared the property of all mankind. There can never be a nation set up there for that reason. Even once we return, it will be unlikely that those sites will be revisited for a long time, and by that time, it should be possible to set up walkways to avoid 'messing up' the footprints in the vicinity. But it's WAY too early to worry about it now.

First there has to be visitors to the moon , again . The general public will not be able to visit the moon any time soon . If the general is allowed on the moon then steps will be taken to preserve these historical areas .
