We all know a draft will not happen, at least not before January 2009. But if it did, the very same armchair warriors who call call more than half of America traitors, terrorists, and homosexuals from the safety from the computer in Mom's basement would not even bother to show up for their physicals. There wouldn't be enough military police or soldiers period to lock all of the draft dodgers.

I think one excuse we'd hear is "I'm here fighting in the war ideas against the libruls".

Any others? Or would they even bother to make excuses at all?

Albannach is correct, but what he FAILS to mention is the public statement by the authors of the bill that they didn't seriously expect it go through.

What the bill was meant to do was focus the spotlight on RICH REPUBLICAN congress members and the fact very few if any of their children are serving in the military. Easy to push for war when you know its not your family members or your "kind" that is going to have to do the fighting.

The draft would not adversely affect the poor or minorities who already make up the majority of the military. It would affect the rich republican children that have no qualms pushing for war when they know they won't be fighting it.

If Congress reinstituted the draft, many patriotic Americans would show up at the draft procedures. Some of course would use college as an excuse, money to pay off doctors, or go to Canada like they did in Vietnam. Yes, there were draft riots, and many protests. Nobody likes war, but if we hadn't fought in WWI and WW2, Europe would be in a mess, the Germans or Japanese would have had the Bomb, and we wouldn't be free Americans. My husband is a vet, and I'm proud that he didn't take the coward's way out. Remember, liberals who are against the draft are free Americans. Wonder how they got that way?

The day is coming. Secret concentration camps are being built. The New World Order police state is right around the corner. So is world war 3.

It would not count what excuses have been made, that they had be compelled by potential of regulation into provider. that ought to be the actual attempt. in the event that they help Bush and the neo-con purpose plenty, how would they rally around the draft? i think of that they had wholeheartedly help it. The rhetoric would be approximately protecting u . s ., our liberty, our freedom, our democracy, and so on. they are too blind to make certain how there incredibly is not any such danger to our way of life. it might provide them a potential to truly suppress liberals. (we will instruct them what actual conflict is like. we will instruct them a thank you to be actual adult males.) nonetheless, the Coulter-OReilly-Limbaugh echo chamber would ramp up the conflict rhetoric, and demand anti-conflict protestors be imprisoned and tried as terrorists, traitors, and so on. i would not be stunned to make certain such law exceeded. i would not be so valuable approximately '09. i'd think of conflict with Iran would happen in '07. that is not an election twelve months. If the GOP keeps administration of the domicile and Senate, the U. S. is unquestionably carried out as a democracy. Bush sees the conflict on terrorism as his legacy, and that i would not positioned it previous him to push for conflict with Iran or Syria. From that element, that is purely a count of time whilst everlasting conflict is the order of the day. everlasting conflict keeps the individuals in line, controlled, and afraid. as long as we are afraid, we are able to be controlled. we will see. i in my view worry for the greater youthful women folk and adult males individuals who're of draft age, and for destiny generations who will combat in a in no way ending conflict, without purpose, cautioned on by potential of empty rhetoric and irrational fears. If the Dems do not take lower back the domicile and senate in November, i'm much greater afraid for u.s.. i in my view will ask your self how human beings threw elementary experience out the window and fully caved to worry. we've a call. we are able to be courageous and face adversity at the same time, or we are able to cower on my own as cowards, then be divided and conquered by potential of authoritarian pastimes in Washington. get entangled, get lively, get recommended.

They would have already signed up for the millitary if they were planning on fighting for their country. However, if they're over 40 then it's possible that they have already faught for our country in previous wars.

Uh....I believe the last time they tried to reinstate the draft a couple of years ago, it was LIBERAL DEMOCRATS that tried to push the legislation through.

Your argument is so lame it needs a cane.
