Now look, when the Germans seceded the throne, it was because they were the rightful heirs. They were the rightful heir because they were descended from previous monarchs and had some English blood and were the closest relatives to the previous King.
Besides, we English are German anyway. We came from Germany and Denmark thousands of years ago and displaced the original British population through the sword, pushing them all into wales. For heaven's sake, the Queen can trace her ancestors back to Cerdic, one of those who came across from Germany in the invasion and helped conquer England, one of the founders of England, and the original King of Wessex, the Kingdom of the West Saxons. The Queen is descended from the other Great Saxon Kings like Alfred the Great and Althelstan, how much more English can you get. The English are Saxons, so are the Hanovarians: Hanover is in Saxony. I don't see what the big deal is.

She WAS the rightful heir. The House of Hanover took the throne several hundred years ago because (a) it was related to the previous franco-british-scottish (and dutch if we count the House of Orange) by blood, (b) all the old houses were inter-related by marriage and blood.
She is no longer the heir. She is now queen of the Kingdom of Great Britain. She may still call for elections and may still dissolve parliament.

The Queen is not German, and her husband is a member of the Greek Royal Family (before his marriage to The Queen he was Prince Philip of Greece).
The current Royal Family is the House of Windsor. The name Saxe-Coburg-Gotha came to the British Royal Family in 1840 with the marriage of Queen Victoria to Prince Albert, son of Ernst, Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha.
The only British Monarch of the House of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha was King Edward VII. King George V replaced the German-sounding title with the current House of Windsor during the First World War.

Her surname is Windsor, her husband is Greek born, her great, great, grandmother married a German, but there has been intermarriage between the royal families of europe for centuries. She is, of course the rightful heir to the throne, as her father was the king, and she was the eldest child.

who carers, she's been good at her job, and in all likelihood in my life time we'll become a republic with the Royal family being like Lords, with small residencies but not much power.
