I'd like to get her something special for her birthday, but I don't live near her (and never have), so I'm not really sure what she's in to at the moment. She tends to like "alternative" things. In other words, she's not very main stream, thinks Britney Spears is a joke, comes from an "artsy" family. To complicate matters, I'm a teacher, so my finanaces are limited. The best I've come up with is a talking Jesus statue! LOL!

If you can, find out from her mother what she is in to these days or get her a gift certificate to a major Music store, all teens listen to some kind of music and as the grandmother of 2 teenagers , they wouldn't like any thing I would buy for them, but the boy I always get him a gift certificate,to a major Video store because he plays video games , and for my grandaughter I get her either a gift certificate to a major clothes store or Music store, they always love it better than just money because it shows I made the effort to go to a store and buy the gift card . I pray this helps your dilemma, or just send the cash, with a nice card they love money too for things for school that mom can't afford .And if she is from an artsy family get her theater tickets to a concert of someone she likes or can exchange for one of her choise, just make sure she can exchange it for another choise before you buy them, get two also she wouln't want to go by herself. On a lighter thought I would like the talking to Jesus statueLOL

i have a 16 year old her favorite gifts are gift cards. go to your bank and tell them you want a card to be used anywhere. they will give you a pre paid visa or m.c. and she can go anywhere, mall, chain stores, anywhere. you can even use it for gas i give these to my parents for their yearly florida trip.
