As much as I hate to say it, no, I doubt they have much chance to survive in the Premiership, after the controversies such as:

The opening match against Everton was controversial to say the least. After an early debut goal by Andy Johnson, The Hornets were undone by to two incorrect penalty decisions: The first not given after Alan Stubbs slapped the ball out of his area, the second given when Chris Powell clearly headed Tim Cahill's cross to safety, coolly converted by Mikel Arteta. A late Damien Francis consolation lessened the defecit, but it was not enough as the Golden Boys succumbed to a 2-1 defeat. Next came a 1-1 draw with West Ham, a match lit up by a superb 30-yard strike by Marlon King. In a post match interview, Hammer's manager Alan Pardew admitted Watford should have won. The third match was against 15-time champions Manchester United, who had beaten Fulham 5-1 and Charlton 3-0. Surprisingly, Watford ran them close, and United needed an electric performance by Ryan Giggs (scoring one and setting up the other) and an unfortunate defensive mistake to come out 2-1 victors.

As if things couldn't get any more unlucky, the fourth match was against Bolton, fielding a team similar to the XI who trounced the Golden Boys 3-0 at Vicarage Road in the FA Cup Third round tie back in January, and this time strengthened by the debut of new lethal striker Nicholas Anelka. In a vicious attacking display, Watford were continuously denied. In the last minute, Malky Mackay, finally making his Premiership debut, struck the crossbar, and from the counter attack Idan Tal was brought down by Danny Shittu inside the area, and Gary Speed made no mistake from the penalty spot. To rub salt into Golden wounds, Blackburn and Sheffield United engaged in a goalless draw, meaning Watford were unjustly rooted to the bottom of the Premiership table as the only side with only a point.

Yes. No football match is a case of "This team will win because they are better" it's always a case of "This team have a better chance of winning because they are better.

Watford are a good team, they couldn't have got promotion otherwise, their best bet is to have confidence and really go for it.

A team can survive without ever winning a game if they draw often enough, Watford are good enough to beat teams in the premiership, the same as teams in the premiership are good enough to beat them. Watford could very well survive, a few early wins would most probably set up a positive momentum for the rest of the season. A positive mindset will get them through. My local team, AFC Bournemouth in the first division have beaten Manchester United before - Watford may be the underdogs but when they get on that pitch it's goals that count - not reputation.

No because first of all your going to get smashed off the pitch today and both Watford and Sheffield United don't have the tools to survive this year.

If god exists then there may be a miracle. Lacking a god their survival is doubtful.
