Somewhere stamped or cast on the transmission housing is a production or model number - find the numbers and if they're the same it should be a fit. You can also go to the local Dodge dealer, parts dept., and ask or your local library should have a rerference section on auto, trucks. Go to the Reference Desk, ask and they should be able to take you to the right book.

what engine do you have? are you mixing from a 2.5 to 3.9 or vise vera? or are you 3.9 to 3.9? or 2.5 to 2.5?

If your going same engine 2.5 or 3.9 those engine are the same from 1987 to 1998 So it will fit the 3.9 is the same up to 2000 on manual trans. I've own the 87'-3.9, 92'-2.5, 96'-2.5 ,and a 01'-3.9 all were man except the 01'.
were talking old school dodge here i'll bet the the 2.5 trans and 3.9 trans will be interchangable.

sounds like it ought to be to late to have the bands adjusted, however the front band is utilized for 2d kit and the two the band is worn or the servo that applies it has failed. there are a number of different issues that could reason this yet those are the commonest.

Measure the bell housing bolt placement, and if it's the same, it'll swap over.
