my accord has both the check engine light and the d4 light flashing which started in stalled traffic along with my speedo stopping...according to the code my d4 flashes 1 long and 4 short...my check engine one long and 7 short can i drive the car like this and how can this be fixed?

all cars are equipped to have the light come on at certain milage intervals. But then agin it IS telling you to check it. For around $50.00 youcan have it hooked to a computor and it will tell you everyting wrong.

Go to the dealer they have a diagnostic computer that they can plug into your card if your car is equipped with OBDC. Otherwise they will know what the code means and can fix it.
Too bad today's cars are so complicated they need to have a computer inside.
My check engine light goes on if the gas cap is not screwed on tight enough, something about emission control or vapor recovery system. So every time I get gas I have to hop out and screw on the gas cap an extra few times. Get a lotta funny looks. But after it happening TWICE I learned my lesson.
