Sounds like you have bought one of the Expansion Packs. Go and buy the first Sims 2 game, this has 4 cd's that need to be installed. This is needed before you add any Expansion Packs!

Did you buy an expansion pack or did u buy the original version of just the Sims 2? if u bought an expansion pack then u will have to buy the first version of the Sims 2 to make the expansion pack or work if not then i don't know.

You will need to buy and install Sims 2 to use that pack.
Or get a refund.
You can download Sims 2 if you want.

no, Sims a million and Sims 2 are 2 distinctive video games. i never had Sims a million, I even have in trouble-free terms Sims 2. merely take the backside equipment of Sims 2 and after u can upload any enlargement %. for Sims 2 on your activity, like Nightlife EP, college EP, Open For employer, Pets, Seasons and so on and additionally there r dissimilar Stuff Packs. yet for useful u do no longer choose Sims1

check the box and see if it says it's an add on if it is take it back and see if you can get something else you probably won't get your money back but they might give you another game or voucher as a replacement worth a try..
