Many people collect old cast iron cooking items. Many people look for used cast iron for everyday use in their kitchens. Best advice is to look for the manufacturer's name and any other identification on the item. You can look it up in books that catalog and value old cast iron. You can also use the resources of the internet. A Yahoo search for "cast iron cookware collectors" (include the quotation marks in the search box) yields 104 results. If you do the same search, and are willing to spend a little time exploring, I'm sure that you will quickly find the information you seek.

Good luck with your search.
