Come on folks the gov. can make a lot of money of it if they would pull their heads out of the asses. Look at booze it was illegal but came back and was made legal. In some states it is legal to use pot as meds. but by the fed laws you still get busted.

In mans 10,000 year history Cannabis has been documented for an ecclectic array of celebratory functions. Be it known that within this vast time span the illegal "weed" has never caused any deaths nor perpetrated evil through its uses. Despite this secret knowledge, alcohol/tobacco sales continue and are legal. Major corporations are allowed by perverted laws and greased palms to sale these legal "drugs", amassing unkown wealths for the price of our lives. These companies therefore contribute to our economic future by increasing growth for local morgues , insuring the medical industry new patients, and countless monies for 7-11's-esque markets through sales of these accepted addictions. Nevertheless.... Let it be known that in times of change, the learners will inherit the earth while the learned will be beautifully equipped to exist in a world that no longer exist. (Taoism)

The Government has been making money from drugs (including pot) for many decades. They use this money for their covert operations. You never heard of Oliver North?? Don't you wonder why the Poppy fields in Afghanistan are bigger than ever? In the past pot (hemp) was classified illegal by businesses that would benefit without the competition of hemp.

Well, you'll never win a war on drugs when one is firmly in your trenches (alcohol).

It would be smart to legalize it and tax it, then give all the billions a year used to find/incarcirate pot smokers to our departments of human/health services. Our first line of defense are our social workers and those areas are severely underfunded.

Of course it would.
In fact I'd legalize all drugs and have them sold at the drugstore. Let's face it, whoever wants to do drugs, does drugs.
By legalizing, we'd prevent street criminalism, we'd get rid of all drug mafias and we'd probably get many a politician unemployed.
