It shouldn't be a valid reason for divorce but in many cases, marriages become stale and fixated on the concept 'if only we had a child'. However if one partner does not want children and the other does, then they can get divorced because they have different life goals in the end. But if due to some medical reason, they're not able to conceive...they shouldn't divorce but explore other options e.g. adoption etc.

The reasons for divorce are determined by the parties. Therefore, if one party insists on children, divorce might be the only solution. Ideally the ability and willingness of both parties to procreate would be discussed and, if extremely important to one or both, tested before marriage. The human mind is incredibly able to arrive at surprising and amazing conclusions, sometimes in direct contradictions of plain facts, so anything is possible--especially in marriage.

No I don't think so. That is something that should of been talked about before you get married or at least thought about. If you are unsure that the person you are marrying wants children, you need to think about what if they want the opposite of what you want. Then you need to figure out if that is something that you can live with. I personally don't think that procreation has much to with marriage. Marriage is about loving someone threw thick and thin. For wanting to spend the rest of your life with them. Procreation is just an add bonus that you get sometimes. If you want to leave someone cause they don't want to procreate with you then you didn't love them. I love my husband just much now with a child then I did when I thought he didn't want children. Our child is just is an added bonus of our love. I am glad that we have her but I would of left my husband if he never wanted children. When I married my husband I knew that there was a big chance that he didn't want children but I married him anyway. If all you want to procreate then there are sperm banks. That and people who will carry a child for you or get you pregnant.

Not really. You dont accept a proposal for marriage after checking whether u both can procreate or not do you?? Incase u have done a fertility check before then you know in advance anyway.
Besides there are options like artificial insemination, test tube babies, and adoption. There's also the slightly radical concept of surrogate mothers.
Incase the lady is infertile then YOU should be with her and not dump her

Of course it's not a reason to divorce. What ever happened to "for better or worse, in sickness and in health, till death do us part."?
If a couple is unable to get pregant, it may be something with the woman OR the man that is preventing it. That counts as sickness, right?
Couples who want a child should try all avenues necessary to get pregnant, including fertility specialists. (Unless your from certain religions, which don't allow that.. Then again, if you're fromt hat certain religion, you're not supposed to get divorced either. So it's a moot point?)

It is as valid as many of the other reasons used for divorce are. Irreconcilable differences, for one. That term covers a vast area. Divorce for any reason really just breaks down to there isn't enough love or commitment to work through the differences.

Yes it is a valid reason if when you entered the marriage it was agreed by both parties that children would be apart of the marriage. These days you can use just about any excuse to a divorce.

No. If u really want a child of ur own u could always adopt a kid from the orphanage. There are many kids out there who need love. Or u could find a surrogate mother for ur child with u and ur spouse. If u really love ur wife u divorce her for this reason.

Not valid.
Where will it end? What about not giving birth to boys? or girls? or retarded children? Or only one child?
Even the crown prince of Japan won't divorce his wife for not giving birth to a baby boy.

no.. procreation is a 'benefit', an add-on to the union. the marriage happened without the kids.. and should not be put aside for failure to have kids.
