I have no idea when this might happen. It might not happen for hours & then it will do it twice in a minute. I tried contacting SBC/DSL but I can't seem to follow what they tell me.

I have SBC/DSL and I have similar problems. Very frustrating but lately,
I've had no problems. Really, I don't think they know. The only explanation
I've heard is that sometimes too many people try to access at the same
time and the system gets overloaded. Possible, I suppose. Anyway, I've
learned to live with it. The answer you get will be interesting.

When this happens, do you see any problems with you modem?
You know "red" lights?

If yes, this is usually what is called a "provisioning" problem. This means the actual wire connection between your in-home connection point and your Telco's access point to the Internet.

Have SBC test the integrity of your connection.

If this is not your problem then get Firefox, http://www.mozilla.com

Have fun but be safe!

call back and listen closer. Tell them to explain anything you don't understand. You are paying for internet service and they should try to help you get it.
