the antivirus i installed already detected 72 cookies, is it okay if i delete them? Will it affect the speed performance of a computer. if i delete them will i also delete some important files?

Cookies do not slow down the computer -- they can make it faster as you return to the sites that set the cookies.
Every so often you can go to; Start / Settings / Control Panel / Internet Options and 'delete cookies' to refresh your computer of your past internet activities. While there you can clear History and Delete Files. (temporary internet files)
You can also do a "Disk CleanUp" by; Start / Programs / Accessories / System Tools / Disk CleanUp..

Cookies are both wanted & unwanted. However you may safely delete them whenever your antivirus or anyother utiliti finds them. Nothing will happen to your computer. It affects your computer's speed in no way.

it is ok to remove them, sm6 is a good thing to have . on a moden machine it will not cause real slow downs. it is good because they keep information about you to save time next time you vist. Say you set up your home page on yahoo the cookies show you the way you like it, etc etc.
every now and then if you have something that says remove them, say ok. or open tools and internet options and do it from there. good luck!

Everything: Motherboard, Harddrive PSU, GPU etc. A computer is a well tuned machine, and will only be as fast as its weakest link. If you want to boost a cpu's performance try overclocking.
