Firstly, When was it last serviced? and by who.
Generally a misfire on a modern car is usually someting simple, like the spark plugs need cleaning and adjusting or depending on what mileage you have done on those plugs, if you are not sure check the condition of the plugs, make sure that they are not worn or bits broken, if the plugs or just one or two are very oily then have your cylinder pressure tested asap as you may have either blown head gasket, valve oil seal gone or worse still worn or broken piston rings.. If your car has only done a low mileage and you have it serviced properly and you know the cars history from new then chances are its something silly again to do with a spark plug or lead, just because you had new plugs fitted a week or two ago it doesn't mean that they may be ok as plugs can fail at anytime.
Best thing first, are you the owner from new? had all the servicing done at correct time or mileage? do you look after it? has it ever overheated?. If you answered all my first questions as yes apart from last one being no then it should be nothing to worry about, and as it is a ford it should be cheap to fix regardless compared to continental cars. Oh one thing, check your leads and see if they are on tightly, and lastly, has anyone been tampering with your car? if so chances are they have put your leads around the wrong way.
Good luck, please let me know the outcome. Jimmy

Apart from the fact that you own a really crap car ( sorry, but they are )
Your problem could be that with the rain we've had lately your plugs and leads have got a little damp. Try spraying them with some WD40 or any other water repellant ( available from Halfords or any other motoring accessories shop ). This solves quite a few bad running problems and is quite good for squeaky doors too :)

Check the spark plugs and the spark plug leads if the leads have black marks on them where they touch other leads this could be your problem the spark is jumping if this is the case change to new spark plugs and leads if this doesnt seem to be the problem take it to a mechanic or auto electrician with a diagnostic computer and let the computer tell you what the problem is.

HT leads are always a weakpoint on Fords these days. Actually, with the increasing voltages on HT systems, they are a problem on cars in general. Try a new set of HT leads.

spark plugs are often not changed on these because they seize into the plug holes, check if they have been. Possibility the plug leads are in poor condition but more likely a spark plug or the coil pack........good news none of it costs a fortune.

Sounds like air flow valve/sensor.
If it was you that asked about the spark plugs, Garages don't like to change them on that car because the old plugs rust in and snap off when you try to remove them !
