Can anyone tell me how I can get my text to scroll down on a rollover rather than having to use the scroll bar. I want to get rid of the scroll bar completely and let the text scroll up or down when the cursor is placed on the text, the speed will be determined on where abouts the cursor is placed. eg. the higher the cursor goes in the text the faster it scrolls up.

Can anyone help me??

Thanks in advance for looking :)

The actionscript for this would be too lengthy for me to type out here. But the theory is quite simple. You create a movie clip with the text inside it and then create a listener that checks the position of the mouse if the mc is rolled over....and the actually movement would be an onEnterFrame containing something like y=y+1 etc.

Sorry that this is really vague but this really isn't the place to be asking such questions. The best place for you to get a solution to this, or in fact any other flash problem, is the forums at:

http://www.actionscript.org

Do a search first before asking though because the regulars get stroppy if something has been asked a dozen times. However, I've been a regular there for over 5 years and I honestly have never encountered anything that the community could not solve.

Good luck!

what's your concern? I paintings plenty with Micromedia at school too. i will edit once I get further information. Hmm, this gadget is used to "crop" photos, cause them to slot to backgrounds, modifying like a paint software, that form of stuff.
