i think we are going to see a repeat of the last ashes series ,very closely fought but even so i have a sneaking feeling for England

Hey i honestly believe we (England) have a fantastic opportunity of bringing back the ashes, and just remember people we don't have to win them!!! I think that we look a more balanced side than last year with Monty bowling so well and lets face it, when did we last go to Australia with a guy who can spin the ball? He'll get turn and more importantly on those hard pitches, bounce!!!
Bell now looks the part and what can we say about Ali Cook!???
Class act....
My only worry is that we have lost Simon Jones, 19 wkts in just 4 tests is very difficult to replace. I would have brought in young Stuart Broad, our new GLENN, but it may have come a year to soon for that boy......

Without a doubt Australia. I would like to see some close fight, but i am afraid Australians will make a clean sweep this time. We may see all one sided games. Mind you, kangaroos are very angry after the last lost in the Ashes. Beware England !!!

I think both sides will be weaker than in 2005.

I don't think either side will completely dominate, but the fact that all 5 main bowlers England used in that series (and a couple of their backups!) have had serious injuries since will tip the balance in favour of the home side.

3-1 to Australia - Harmison to star in the Perth test, and Monty to perform brilliantly at Sydney but Warney to shade the battle of the spinners.

well its going to be a close one with a lot at stake (if england win by more than three matches then they go number one in the world) injuries are a worry but with the emergence of monty panesar and alistair cook also recalling chris read england are still looking strong. i feel that the aussies ageing squad (only one first team regular under 30) will crumble under englands aggresive attitude that will shine through with andrew flintoff at the helm. the job will be made a whole lot easier if steve harmison can start getting his immense pace and bounce on the quick australian pitches, we saw what he did to the best middle order in the world at old trafford (had inzi hopping about all over the place)

ENGLAND!!

Come on England fans, we have to be positive here! We can't let those Aussies walk off with the Ashes after last year!!!

Lets put our faith in Super Fred and the boys.

Hey - perhaps Warney will be out of the series because of his head injury?? Hee hee!!! Oh my whatever would the Aussies do then???

Australia will wish the Ashes series this year

providing all the bowlers are fit it will be england, Australia lack any really talented bowlers, Warne and McGrath are getting on a bit and can't bowl as they did in the past. Lee is fast but all over the place and gillespie and Kasprowicz are just awful. So providing no injuries i reckon England will knick it

I think the Aussies will be on their mettle after last years wonderful series! But because of that they will also be well prepared, knowing we arent the push over we used to be.

But yes injuries on both sides will go towards who grabs that special urn.
