Jeff Gordon, because he is on his way to being one of the best drivers ever. No, he will never be greater then Richard Petty or Dale Earnhardt Sr., but he raced with Sr. during his career until Sr. died. Dale Earnhardt Jr. learned from his dad who is one of the best but he doesn't have as many wins as Jeff Gordon, who has 75 wins, and is almost tied with Sr. for most career wins, Sr. had 76. Jr. doesn't have many championships, and Gordon has 4, and thats better then anyone in Nextel Cup, and more then anyone in Nascar except for Sr. and Richard Petty. Jeff Gordon didn't have a famous race car driver as a father or wasn't at the famous tracks all the time, and wasn't in the spotlight all the time like Jr. was. Jr. was in the spotlight all the time because he was the kid of one of the best drivers in Nascar. Jeff Gordon did everything on his own and learned how to be better and he is one of the best NASCAR drivers out there no matter what anyone says.

That's an easy one-Jeff Gordon. He's won more championships and races than Dale Jr. Jr. is doing good just to be in the Chase.

Unfortunately the way the question is asked I'll have to say Gordon. Dale Jr. is definitely not the driver his father was and I am beginning to worry that he never will be. Right now Tony Stewart is the best driver in Nascar.

In Busch series or Nextel series? In the Nextel series statistically it would have to say Jeff Gordon. Personally and fan based it would have to be Dale Jr. I'm a Nascar and Jr fan, but for the facts check Nascar.com or Speed channel.com

Both are better

Dale Jr is better at trying to wreck the entire field (Or making Carl Edwards do it anyways.) He's also best at thinking just cause his Daddy was great, he's the next best thing.

Jeff Gordon is better at being a big @ss crybaby who thinks everyone should move out of his way and let him win. As we all saw with Matt Kenseth at Chicagoland this year, he'll wreck you if you don't obey!

As for the best driver In NASCAR? Wait a few years and it'll be Denny Hamlin and Casey Mears. As for right now, Tony Stewart is best.

Duh!! Dale Earnhardt Jr.! he learned from the best for one and he has more skill and although i have to admit jeff gordon is a pretty good driver most his wins are a cause of his nastiness on the track!

Are you serious? I think J Gordon is a fag, but he is still way better at the actual racing than JR. Just look at the stats of both of the drivers. go to www.nascar.com

Right now you have to say it's Jeff Gordon, he has Jr. beat in wins and championships right now. Jr. may be able to catch Gordon eventually, but for now the nod has to go to Gordon.
