I've had both and I found Verizon to be much better in service and coverage.

Maybe it's because of where I live but with sprint I would always drop calls, lose signal, and have problems receiving messages. When I'd call and complain - their answer was ALWAYS -(I swear they read it off a 5x7 index card hanging on their cubical wall) - "Your contract does not guarantee your service."

I've had Verizon for about 5 months now, and I can honestly say that I can not remember the last time I had a problem with the service at all. If I did have a dropped call it was probably because of the person on the other line, not my phone.

BTW - when Wilma hit last year and we were without power or phones for 2 weeks - my husbands sprint and my t-mobile did not start working again for about 1 week. His best friend's Verizon phone had service throughout. We were able to call family with his phone.
