I used to work in a hospital that had 3 floors. When a patient died, we would say they were discharged to the 4th floor.
Someone mentioned "going to see a man about a dog". I don't get it, but I think it's cute.

"Going to see a man about a dog"--Southern people used to say it to mean they're going to the out house, but now it can be used to mean they're leaving the room for any reason, including boredom, and it's none of anyone's business why. Same as, "Going to Chattaneuga."

I always laughed at that one when Dad said it.
