I don't know about evil. But, it's becoming clearer that they had some kind of agenda from the start. I read some of Colin Powell's book and how he had been advising against an Iraqi invasion long before 9/11. It seems from reading his book that Bush had that on his agenda when he first took office.
Yesterday Bush argued with congress about how to treat the war prisoners and insisted treating internationally established POW rules differently. He showed no regard as to how our own troops might be treated as a result. His so-called nonpartisan speech about 9/11 earlier this week ended up being another sales pitch on war.
Isn't it also odd that gas prices are dropping as the election nears. Gas prices have been going steadily upwards for over three years. And now for no apparent reason they are falling. Polls reported that voters were more concerned with the economy and gas prices than the war. I'm sure Bush recalls the fact that his father was voted out of office because of the economy even though he won the first Gulf War. Bush's approval ratings are now on the rise because of dropping gas prices. How easy it would be for oil companies to drop prices to rig the election to keep their cronies in office.
One of Bush's early campaign speeches mentioned he wanted to reshape the world. Well, he's succeeded in a very negative way.

Not evil. Just wrong. The problem with the current political situation in this country is that there is so much hatred and vitriol spewing from people because the debate has been transformed from a question of *how* to run our country to one of *who* should. We've gone from debating "right and wrong" to debating "good and evil." We need to get away from this. Our opponents are not "evil", they just have different ideas about how best to run things. The sooner we make this change (unlikely as it is) the more reasoned and effective our negotiations will become.

Don't loose faith in the democratic process. Research the "Wisdom of Crowds" also referred to the "Wisdom of Groups". The only evil would be not to learn something our chosen environment.
