After about 3 minutes without oxygen the brain cells start to deteriorate, reviving after that leaves the possibility of brain damage. People have been revived after much much longer but these have been after extreme circumstances.

One instance I do know about was a story reported in Readers Digest of a little girl who went walkies in sub-zero temperatures during the night, when she was found she was almost frozen solid and her heart had stopped, but the docs knew that the body shuts down quickly in freezing temperatures, and decided to warm her body slowly to prevent ice forming. After many, many hours thawing she woke up. There was no brain damage and no other organs were damaged.

This was an extreme case, but technically, yes, the dead can be revived, depending on the circumstances of the cause of death..

Well, that depends.... if the person has been dead for a long time (longer than 20 sec.) then no, because the brain would have died by then assuming the person died of natural causes, but if you could get the heart started before about 20 sec. then the person might have some brain damage, but you could get them back alive. The only problem is that once the heart stops, there's not a lot one can do to start it up again, electricity is often used, and lithium is used to stop heart attacks from occurring. Another problem though is that your body is like a machine and parts get old and worn out, so if you manage to revive the heart and get the blood pumping again, you then need to worry about how many of your organs are still working properly.
Short Answer: it is possible, but very difficult.

heart working or stoped has nothing to do with a human being alove or dead ! its just another organ, ofcourse it is important but it is not the SOUL.

scientists will be never be able to arise dead or even make any single cell alive after it dies. the whole cloning thing might make you think that they can create a person from a single cell but however this cell must be alive in order to multiplicate.

if you heard of dolly the sheep or any other cloned animal. they took a life cell and cloned it, it just multiplied correctly. but if dolly was dead there will be no cloning!

to sum up ! you cant revive the dead!

How long dead are you talking? After a few minutes of o2 not getting to the brain will greatly deteriorate the brains function and if that person is revived they will be a vegetable.

With proper preparation (lots of it) I believe that it is possible to stay dead for approximately 45 mintues.

Cooling the body to a very low temperature is a big part of this. You also have to be hooked up to several machines.

After that, the brain damage will start no matter what: with our current technologies.

Even if revival exists, how would the dead guy feel? He was having eternal peace until he suddenly went back to the world of suffering.

Not after 5 to 10 min. Even if you just wanted the heart to work, the tissue will start to die it can't be made to pump again.

Have you heard of CPR? The heart and all bodily functions have ceased, but the heart is restarted. If anoxia is too prolonged brain death occurs.
