This is what happened:

1 week ago my amplifier was left ON for 2 days in my car and it emptied my battery completely. Now when I try to recharge it with a battery charger the current starts at 10A and goes down to 6A, and it stays there for a couple of hours. The fully charged battery has a charging current of 0A, why won’t the current go down to 0A ? Does anyone know a better way of charging it ? Someone recommended that I should change the acid and the water inside the battery, good idea ?

I found out that one of the conectors on the alternator was unpluged so the battery was the only source of power in the whole car :) I have a MercedesBenz AMG 190E so I was suprised that the I had that problem because the battery is new and I didn't have any problems with the car for over 5 years.

You hosed the battery. When car batteries are completely discharged, they are ruined. Replace it.

The simple technical answer is some of the plates inside the battery have shorted together. Ordinary batteries are not built to withstand being totally discharged. Only a 'deep-cycle' marine battery can tolerate it.

yea you could check the water and pull a gravity test on the acid but i dont recomend it because it doesnt seem like you are familar with batteries all that much(no affence)
but one wrong move and you can have the acid blow up in your face
GET A NEW BATTERY

Man it sounds as though your getting a constant draw from somewhere. You might unhook your batt. and try to charge it. Or depending on what your car's model, there might be an easy fix for this.
