I only noticed one celebrity came on and asked a question about a week ago. I noticed lots of people replied so I didn't bother. I think it was Claudia Schiffer or someone like that. You're right though, people gravitate toward celebrities in hopes of being pulled into the in crowd. It almost seems unnatural doesn't it? Like as if people were just mindless zombies. I mean even after she had a million answers people were still writing in hopes of being noticed. I guess you and I don't care about that stuff as much because maybe we have something the others don't. Faith in our own talents. ;-) check ya later.

What celebrity? Basically there are 3 answers to this:
1) People who think they're doing a community service by answering.
2) Questions that deserve an answer (includes 1)).
3)People who got nothing better to do. Look at most of the answers and many of the questions (lame & boring).

I like the way you put quotes on the word celebrity, as if you somehow think Al Gore and Stephen Hawking are undeserving of the title. I would agree with you if there were people like Paris Hilton asking stuff, but when someone who actually deserves fame asks a perfectly relevant question then of course everyone is going to want to answer.

Unfortunately, that is the way of the world. It is about attention, because let's face it that's why we ask questions to get people's attention so they can answer the question. Obviously if they are a 'star' or 'well known person' people are going to answer purely on the basis they might get noticed. There are hundreds of questions (of varying quality) posted everyday, but what makes them different from all the others. What makes you sit up and notice them? Do, you sift through endless questions looking for something different? If you do, you are in a minority most people do what is easiest to them.

I agree...that is just sad. I worked as a stage hand for about 2 years and most of the stars that everybody gives a god rating to are 1 of 2 things...real simple people like the rest of us or they are complete and total arrogant a55holes.

Why people answer! The need to communicate is human -- thus man invented the speech and not otherwise.
We became a speech bearing humanity because of our need to communicate with each other. Last but not least -- look at how Internet is expanding -- all because of the need to want to communicate with other human beings. I rest my case and so should you too!

Why do people go to rock concerts? -- I mean, there are plenty of people there already, why add one more to the crowd?
We're social animals. We like to be where the crowds are -- that's where the cool stuff happens.

there is nothing to ;answer if ;you will not ask. many persons wanted to answer questions as because of their desire to help you of your problem, your doubt of what is happening and everything that caused your doubtful feelings. you should not wonder of this situation, many persons are born to be helpful to others who needed hep, ok?
