have you tried tickling ur self? try ur palate (roof of the mouth)! any explanation for the result?

how come the palate (roof of mouth) is the only area in our bodies that is actually sensitive and can feel ticklish if we try to tickle it?
its mind-boggling!

The reason we can't tickle ourselves is because the brain anticipates our own movements, and blocks the tickling sensation. If it weren't for that, we'd jump every time we touch ourselves!

Presumably the roof of your mouth is an area that you touch so seldom (at least with tickling intent) that the brain isn't as good at blocking the sensations from there.

Interestingly, it is possible to tickle yourself with a device that gives your tickling a time delay. Your brain doesn't anticipate and block the delayed tickle.

sorry mate i tickle me self all z time,,,i tried the roof of the mouth but matey i thinks that the other place is way better..
i reckon that you might need to try th other tickly place,i think ur old enough .
maybe go out some time instead of playng with your.......computer..
girls like it when you use your tongue to tickle try that itz not all about you.
also me heard there iz this operation you can get werz they take out a couple of ribs an you can tickle yourself.
maybe u should go to bed early an work on it.

A higher concentration of nerves in that area. It's one of our more primitive attributes. It was used to determine if something you put in your mouth was actually safe to eat (aka. if it hurt when you put it in your mouth, don't eat it!).
