Mr. Charles Bannerman of Australia played the first ball bowled in the First Match by Alfred Shah of England in the test match played between Auastralia and England at Melbourne Cricket Ground from 15th to 19th March, 1877. He scored 165 Runs in 285 balls with the help of 18n fours and retired hurt. Australia won the test match by 45 Runs.
