HOW do i use my playstation 2 to play playstation 1 game?

My ps2 is a modified one and even though i keep putting the ps1 game in and resetting the machine, it just wouldnt detect the disc at all! i;ve tried it with different ps 1 discs but it wouldnt work. pls give me directions on how to do this the right way! help! i'm trying to play one game now.. >.<

Ah, a modified PS2, huh?
Once, I bought my Original Playstation1 cd(CTR) to my friends modded PS2, and it didnt work! He said only pirated PS1 games work on that. And maybe you have a different modchip, so maybe no PS1 games work.

I expect the chip will only allow pirated PS2 games to played not PS1.

Dont modify your PS2, now you are basically stuck, but if you "reset" the disc reader (which requires opening the console), by flipping the cable from the disc drive to the cpu, it may work.

I can play PS1 games on my PS2 with no mods. I just have to use the PS1 memory card.

Your first problem is RESETTING IT. Why the hell would you do that?

I am not going to tell you how to play pirated video games when you should just go out and buy them. I can tell you that, as of right now, with what you have, you CAN'T play pirated games.

is ur ps2 internally or externally modded????
if it is externally modded plz state the name of the mod chip, Mine is called PSHACKER.

um it could be because you modded it or it could be the game you are playing is scrached
