Well when a bunch of the popes followers hijack a plane or 2 and fly them into skyscrapers you just let me know O.K. . I dont see anything wrong with his opinion I know a few muslims and they all have alotta excuses for the actions of the terrorists,,it makes me sick ,,What does islam have to offer the world? I see no will to advance as culture and resent others for striving to make the world a better place. One thing at the core of islam i have not seen disputed iss the goal to unite the world under islamic rule.every islamic scholar ive sseen on the idiot box has said the ame thing islam means to "submit"....... not me :)

Christianity's violent in general past is not the current "in" question in everyone’s' mind. "Jihad" however associated with "Islam" and therefore the followers "Muslims”, has been. The Pope, whom has knowledge to say the least of the principles on Islam, spoke correctly. Why should he have to apologize is truly beyond me. Islam is a religion (path) of Peace and not of violence. “Jihad” is not the privilege of a Muslim unless, and I mean unless, it is in line with the teachings of the Prophet and not of the few bereaved/psycho self proclaim righteous Imams.

As I understand it he was quoting someone else.

In my opinion, muslims are jumping up and down over nothing - again, but I suppose they will burn down a few embassies and kill a few innocent tourists as revenge.

you can read part of the Pope's actual speech below in context

he never criticized mohammed, but was relating a discussion about war and religion many years ago

The Catholic Church has apologized for many errors in its past.

Have you actually read what the Pope said?

Here is a link to the English translation of the Pope's speech: http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/benedict_xvi/speeches/2006/september/documents/hf_ben-xvi_spe_20060912_university-regensburg_en.html

With love in Christ.

Well if the West continues to demonise Islam as this Pope have done with his quote (no matter how 'right', how relevant) the world will see, live and experience "Crusade II" - it has begun.

Well, Christians don't get 72 virgins for killing women and children.
If Christians did that, they would go to Hell; but Muslims get Paridise and virgins.
Doesn't seem fair.
