Both ... yes and no... If you want to know why I am writing yes read the following...
Yes, everything happens in life for a reason... a reason which is beyond explaination... we are all following a flow of evolution and we come here to evolve further in the path.
If you want to learn more about it (evolution of our "Self", spiritual self) read Dr. Brian Weiss... www.brianweiss.com, he has written this in his books too.
I recently read Messages from the Masters. But if you are interested then start with Many lives many masters.
If you want to say the answers is no, I do not thing you need any explaination....

In many belief systems, we live for a specific reason.
Some believe that you choose your whole life path before you go into the womb.
Others believe in reincarnation and that living each life is a chance to acquire new knowlege.
If you believe in these many systems, which often involve karma, then yes, everything happens for a reason.
If you get in a car accident due to being drunk, you may have planned that while in spirit before living this life in order to learn a lesson about drinking and driving.
Even dying as a baby or in the womb can teach the spirit lessons about life.
I personally believe that there must be some reason why we live and why things happen. Otherwise, there wouldn't be much point would there?

Yes it is true.
Whether prople believe it or not, the Lord is active in everyone's life. He makes things happen. Well, satan is also active in our lives too, and he makes things happen as well, but nothing happens by accident. We do not necessarily know why things happen sometimes, but there IS a reason for absolute certain.
To explain further would require a lot more detail, such as spiritual warefare and so on. If you are interested you can email me, or I can recommend some websites that contain information about this, or, better yet I'd refer you to a NLT (or NIV) bible, and begin reading Matthew.

Everything that happens is the LORD'S plan for you as a person. The lessons you learn from the life you experience are the reasons why things happen the way they do.

I believe so.
For example: Your car breaks on your way to work, you take the subway and you meet the love of your life in the subway - that's what I call an example of "everything happens for a reason". My life is full of such examples and I do believe that everything happens for a reason.

I believe that is true. God is at work in our lives whether we believe that or not.
He uses everything to mold our character - to make us better and more like him.
I have heard it compared to someone making a beautiful tapestry. Sometimes we see just the threaded (other) side that doesn't appear to make sense, and other times you see the beautiful artwork where the work all makes sense. At the end of our lives, we will see the final picture woven together.

excuse me i would like to change the word reason by the word wisdom but not a human wisdom it s god wisdom and as we all belive that nobody can realize or optain or contain it because it is larger than our minds just like the sun you cannot look at the sun directly because it is stronger than your ability but it does not mean that the sun doesnot exicit.
so you just feel wisdom with your soul and be always satisfaied and sure that what happen to you is the best to have a good life

Yes, if you believe in pre-destination and that nothing happens without having been planned so by God so as to fulfill God's own design. For instance, Judas was designed to betray Jesus so as to fulfil the nailing to the cross and the resurrection of the latter. Don't tell me Judas is in hell.
