Is it legal to work as a nurse in New York and live as a permenant resident in Ontario?

Yes you can do it but you need to check on the tax situation and make you have applied for all the permits. You don't want to be paying tax's in both countries. You need to apply for the resident card so our immigration know who you are. Contact them for all the details and price range for permits.

If you don't contact our immigration it can cause problems for you down the road. Once you secure our resident card you'll have to switch your plates from the states to Ontario, or they can give you a hard time crossing on both sides. * personal experience*
