there was polling in kashmir after independence to find whether people of kashmir want to live in india or pakistan. they polled in favor of india.
india is a secular country while pakistan is islamic country. pakistan wants kashmir only because of its muslim population n nothing else. while people of kashmir always wanted to be part of india.
as far as non-violence is considered, india never attacks pakistan in first place. indian military is purely defensive.
also, if it is freedom struggle for u, then why does pakistani government denies identification of the dead "soldiers" (read terrorists)?? why does ur government denies of existence of training camps in indo-pak border?

Well....another totally confused moron.
Firstly...Most of the freedom struggle against the British were peacefull and acts of violence against the British were condemn by Gandhi himself. Also...the violence was targetted towards british military and not on innocent civilians. Also...the British has INVADED AND OCCUPIED Indian territories.
NOw...lets see about Kashmir. Well...Kashmir king had signed an accession of power to india witnessed by the British themselves. Secondly...India intervened at the request of Kashmir government after PAKISTAN INVADED. SO there is no doubt that Pakistan is the invader and India is the protector.
Hence u should get some idea about the kashmir issue and the so called terrorist freedom fighters. Well..if u don't get any idea....then stop reading the pakistani history books....it is designed for terrorists...get a neutral and unbiased report....and u'll understand the truth.....if u pursue it with unbiased heart.

Unfortunately the views on this questions will depend from where you are getting them - India or Pakistan.
Since I am from Pakistan I have just these questions;
1. To resolve the issue once and for all, why does not India allow
a plebiscite to settle the issue for ever.
2. We all know the formula of partition; Hindu majority states to
join India, and the Muslim majority states to join Pakistan.
Than why was the voice of people suppressed and the choice
of a Sikh maharajah preferred.
I sincerely want this issue resolved as it has taken too many lives, it is hindering the prosperity and the peace in the region. But I personally feel that the resolution of this problem is not in the interest of the politicians in India and the military in Pakistan.

It is yet to be established that common kashmiri wants freedom. It is a manifestation of pakistan and some misguided youths of kashmiri who have been misguided into it. Rest assure, that the day kashmir is seperated, it will be another Palestine/Lebanon/Beirut. You still want it? Think positive and being a part of India is the only way you can develop. All you have to ensure that corrupt politician and bureacrats do not gobble up the development fund which is provided every year. Otherwise you can look forward to being a part of Banana republic.

The two can not be compared.Kashmir has no future if it is freed or amalgamated with Pak.It has to remain with India only.
HOWEVER.....
I was shocked and every Indian must have been shocked to note that HOW THOSE PEOPLE WHO CRY with thier full mouth THAT "jis kashmir ko khoon se seencha woh kashmir hamara hai" didnt do anything for the kashmiri victims of earthquack. No contribution was collected in the offices as had been done at the time of Latoor eartquack in Gujrat.no org. came forward to help them.Even NEWS papers which have collected huge money for Gujrat earthquqck did not do anything for the kashmiri victims.
Is it not discrimination ?
These so called "RASHTRAWADIS" do not consider Kashmir as a part of India. If they consider kashmir as an integral part of India why they did not offer any help to the kashmiris as they did in the case of Gujrat ?

You are comparing Apples with Brinjals.
This is typical talk of a madrassa educated. Get some formal education and read some good history. Visit some good websites (Not jehadi Osama stuff) and learn.
Open your eyes or you will become extinct.
Yes, Kashmir needs to be free, from Pukistan.
Infact Punjab, NWFP, Baluchistan, Sindh and Bangladesh need to be freed from Pukistan.
Its an artificial entity (hence never a successful democracy and most unstable and most volatile) created by British and US to be a counter balance to India and USSR.
Soon, it will collapse under its own weight.
Have a nice history reading.

There is no comparison between two. Kashmir is an integral part of India. Wheras British came here for business and then ruled us. Frankly speaking the fact is foreign media and human rights activists are glorifying Kashmir terrorism. And our freedom fighters are called terrorists. "Yeh Desh Ka Durbhagya Hai".
And see the beauty of our democracy you don't even know the difference between Terrorism and freedom struggle. Shame on our historians who write history books. I strongly suggest please change your mind set.

Do you know history. India's freedom struggle was not fuelled by covert neighbour. There is no global wide fund raisers for india's freedom. At last Only Indians fought for their freedom not the terrorists from different countries. Nobody paid any amount for indian freedom fighters at that time.
you ask the same question when Baluchistan is divided from Pakistan
