BA = Bachelore of Arts (i.e in Language, Arts, etc.)
BS or BSc = Bachelore of sciences (in science and technology)

Other abbreviations:

MSc : Master of Science
ASc : Associate of Science

ASc needs 2 years after Highschool
BSc and BA normally need 3-4 years after High school
MSc needs 2 Years after BSc

Keep in mind, a Bachelor of Science degree does not nec. mean your major was science. The two degrees you can get from a four year university are either a bachelor of arts or a bachelor of science.
The distincion is foggy.
Usually if you study something in the Humanities, you will get a BA....
foreign language, English, History, etc.
Math and Science goes to the BS

Well, its a bachelor Of Science degree, or is also used for B*u*l*l S*h*i*t degree also, like egyptian underwater basket weaving, or any other degree that doesnt do anything for you LOL
