About 6 months ago, I had a dream in which I was in a pitch black space *I know it wasn't a room, it was just a space*, and someone was grabbing my upper arms and digging their fingertips into my arms. I remember screaming, and I woke up very abruptly, and my entire body was stiff and rigid, my hands straight out at my sides and my fingers spread out and every muscle taut. When I had calmed down, I went to have my shower, and I noticed yellow, brown and green bruises on my upper arms where I had been "grabbed" in the dream. I could not have done this myself, as I woke up too fast for my hands to move from my arms down to my sides. The bruises were NOT there before I went to bed that night. Could there be any explanation to this?

I once had a dream that my dead friend was kicking me in the *** (As she commonly did when she was alive. She kept me in line), and I dinstinctly remember she had these little green boots on. They were her FAVORITE!
When I woke up, I had a clear bruise of the tread of her boot on my backside.
I truly believe that in dreams, we convince ourselves that it's happening, so our body MAKES it happen.
Just like women with false pregnancies. If they totally believe that they're pregnant when they're not, their bodies will begin showing false symptoms of pregnancy.
The human mind is strange...

I've actually had this happen once or twice, where I dreamed I was struggling or fighting and woke up with bruises and my body aching. I couldn't explain it then, and I can't do any better now, sorry. But I do know what you mean. I haven't had a dream like that in ages, and I hope I don't again.

I have had the same problem. In my dreams i would frequently experience stabing pains in my stomach area and when i would wake up, i would have cuts and bruises on my stomach and sides. Eventually the truth came to life... It was my wife. First she was slowly posioning me with little bits of draino in my dinner every night, which would cause the stomach problems. And then she was cutting me while i slept because as she puts it, she to too scared to stab me and go through with it.
Now though we have a wonderful relationship, i really don't mind all the pain. I believe you can never experience true pleasure without first experiencing real pain...

Yes, but normally the day before I'd been playing Rugby. Most likely answer because, firstly, few of my dreams are bad in the slightest, and none anything like what you described, and, secondly, Rugby's a bloody vicious game, and most likely the bruises took that long to develop.

i was in a glass box laying on my back like a coffin but completely squared off, i see a rod running down either top corners, flames start to flow from these rods across the top of the box, i start to panic and pound my hand against the glass and its already red hot, I burn my hand real bad and as soon as the pain registers in my brain the flames stop and I am now standing next to this glass box...... the dream gos on for another 3 pages....... when i wake my hand is red and swollen and pulsing like a 2 day 3rd degree burn the swelling gos down but my hand still gos cold every once in a while.

Dreams do this to me also.I wake up with un-explained bruises quite frequently. To the point were I had blood tests taken to see if there was a blood disorder causing the bruises.

Remember a few years back where you could say a chant and make cat scratches appear on people?

You could have bumped into something or squeezed your arm in your sleep. Sometimes what's happening while you're asleep is reflected in your dreams. In one dream I heard a voice chanting "Go to sleep, go to sleep, go to sleep..." and when I woke up I realized it was my alarm clock "talking" to me.
