. . . do you read everyone else's answers to that question first?
I'm 50/50 on that. Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't.
If it's a technical or rules-based question, I read to see if the right answer's there already.
If it is, I go on to another Q. What do you do?

I usually read the answers already posted before posting my own. And, like you, if it is a rules based question, or something else that is fact, and someone else has already answered correctly, I move on. If it an opinion type question (like "Who's going to win the World Series"), I read the answers then post my own opinion.

If I answer it, I also add it to my watch list so I can easily come back later and see what other people may have answered after me.

Same 50/50. Only if it's an opinion-based ?, I never read the others. I just post and run. Anything else I'll take a quick boo to see if I really need to add anything or if some answer is so stupid it deserves a response.

For most questions, there are usually 5-10 people before me who answered the question and if someone already gave a totally correct answer, I don't bother to answer myself, even if each time gives me 2 points just for saying "hi." On various occasions, though, if I see an incorrect or close to correct answer and if I can fine tune my own answer with references, I do so. I've already won 10 points for answering baseball questions alone about 30 times.

I usually read the answer. I'm almost always too late with my answer. Most people have some kind of reference book they are looking the information in. I just do it by my knowledge and I'm always think I'll look stupid when my memory doesn't match the guy who has the reference book.

If I am going to answer a question, I just answer it without looking at the other answers.

It depends on the type of question and the number of answers already given.

If I choose to answer a question, I want my answer to be MY answer. That's why I don't read other answers before submitting my own.

I prefer to only read other answers after I have posted my answer.
